Today I had to stay home to await the repair of my cable modem.
While hanging around, waiting for the phone call, I FINALLY saw a
PURPLE FINCH at the feeder. They had been there every single day for
at least the last 2 months of 2004, but neither of us had seen one in
2005. Our feeders went empty during a 3-day stay in Alabama, and a
lot of birds abandoned us. They are just now building back up in
numbers.
