[TN-Bird] Paris Landing gulls

After a day of caving in White Bluff and a short visit to Fort Donelson
National Battlefield in Dover, there was still a little daylight left, so the
family headed the short distance to Paris Landing State Park at 4:30. In the
fading light, we went to the dock and observed many Ring-Billed Gulls and
smaller
Bonaparte's Gulls with the nice white-on-gray upper wing colors. On the way
back across the river, with little light left, I stopped to scan the small
island in the middle of the river. Most of the gulls took flight about this
time,
and I noticed one huge, dark gull among the average-sized Ring-Billed Gulls as
they flew away. It returned a minute later and flew around the island, and
was definitely large medium gray with some darker areas. It landed soon after,
and had the profile of a large gull. With so little light, I couldn't see
enough detail, but the size had me thinking Greater Black-backed Gull. A Great
Blue Heron was sitting on the end of the island. If anyone gets over that way
tomorrow morning, it may still be around since it was roosting time when we
left.
