He came just about his regular time at 6:41 a.m. this morning for his
first check to be sure the sugar water was still there for him.  As I
sat peering into the light around his feeder awaiting his first
appearance for the day, I thought about how no one will ever write a
birding book entitled: "The Logic of Birding".  We've gotten up early to
see his arrival at the feeder every morning since November 26.  How
illogical is that?  He is just as beautiful during the day, as many
photos can verify, so why are we driven to be there every morning when
he shows up for that quick sip?  I guess birding is more about the
senses than making sense.  I need to see if more caffeine will eradicate
this philosophical moment.
