[TN-Bird] Anderson County gull

This afternoon, Monday, January 3, around noon on the upper pond at the
Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Clinton, Anderson County, Tennessee, among the
hundreds of ring billed gulls there was a larger gull. I believe it was
either a first winter herring gull or possibly a first winter lesser black
backed gull. It had a black bill (a heavier bill than the ring bills) and
was noticeably larger than them. Though the coloring looked more like a
herring gull (I was looking at Sibley's) it seemed to me that the size was
more consistent with lesser black backed, but it was probably a herring
gull.
That was the most interesting bird I saw there. There continue to be lots
of coots, buffleheads, Mallards, Canada Geese and a couple ring neck ducks
and a great blue heron.
