[TN-Bird] Ruddy ducks

Two male Ruddy Ducks were present Saturday and Sunday at Cedar Hill Park in
Madison, TN. They were first spotted Saturday just before sunset, with tails
erect and heads tucked. The white cheek patches were distinct, along with the
tail posture and white spot below. Sunday afternoon they were diving,
preening, and moving around the lake, sometimes coming within 50 feet of the
shore by
the dam/road, affording great views. These were a TN first for me.
To reach Cedar Hill Park, take Interstate 65 north of Nashville to Old
Hickory Boulevard, exit 91 I believe, and take Old Hickory west for 1 mile and
turn
right into the park. Go straight on the main park road to the second left,
which leads to a parking area next to the lake, which has a paved trail around
it. Best viewing is from the south side by the road/dam due to the southern
sun position.
