O, the fun of reading the descriptive listings... including Ol'Coot's. Even
when I have read til I am worn to a frazzle, I make a point of reading all that
is written in this creative manner. Hey, it gives a better touch to a birding
outing.....
To me much of the joy of birding comes from how one perceives.........the
seeing... the feeling ... the hearing .... the smelling of a walk through a
hemlock wooded area; a field filled with grasses, broomsedge and flowers; along
a stream filled with fish?. an icy marsh with the crust of ice breaking up!!!!
And what about the chill as one stands perfectly still listening for the nasal
peeent of the American Woodcock. And how about the scream of a hawk coming
over a ridge.. Now I bet there are many who disagree. But to me this is what I
love about birding!!!
