Musick's Lakeside Campground (MLC),
Osceola Island Recreation Area (OIRA),
Sullivan County, TN

Alice Loftin, Jim Holt, and I hit three big birding spots in Sullivan
County this afternoon, with good results, including a couple of
surprises along with quite a few of the predictable wintering species.
Here's the lowdown:

Common Loon (4 MLC);
Horned Grebe (MLC);
Pied-billed Grebe (4 ML, 6 MLC, including two on the Virginia side);
Eared Grebe (2 MLC);
American Wigeon (9 OIRA);
Ring-necked Duck (8 OIRA, 1 ML);
Common Goldeneye (male, ML);
Bufflehead (87+ OIRA);
Hooded Merganser (117+ ML);
Osprey (MLC);
American Coot (2 ML);
Ring-billed Gull (410+ ML, MLC, and South Holston Lake);
American Pipit (9 MLC);
Palm Warbler (MLC).
