"Political Correctness" is a conservative linguistic invention; I doubt that
any vanity tag funds are headed that way. I do know that $$ from some tags go
to the Dept. of Transportation, the one state agency that already has much more
money than it can put to good use.
All the funds for the Great Smoky Mountains tag goes to the Friends of the
Smokies, so far. If you'd rather not contribute to that organization, you can
send $25 or $35 to the cause of your choice and display their bumper sticker.
I happen to know of some individuals who have covered the sun/map logo on their
TN tags with symbols of their own choosing, such as an image of the earth.
During routine inspections, state troopers made no mention of the alteration.
I'd recommend a bird silhouette, to make this posting bird-relevant, but
altering the plate might be illegal, and I certainly wouldn't want to get
caught instigating any illegal activity.

WOOOA......WOOOOA
Who is doing who a favor? The Governor is acting like the state can't
AFFORD to distribute them to all the tag offices? Well? Can we afford
to pay for the tag? Can we afford to pay the unannounced 20% increase?
The Governor isn't doing us a favor by selling the Wildlife Viewing Bluebird
tags. We are doing the state a favor by buying the tags. Are we doing
the state a favor by providing funds that they can divert to the Society for
Political Correctness?
Can we afford to pay for a system that won't respond to us when we have
concerns? Can we afford a program that knows we are asking questions
but is not trying to supply information to help us? Can we afford what is
going on?
I agree with Dee Thompson: "If some of you know the
'real scoop', please share it with the rest of us."
Time is staring to run out.....
If I take that Bluebird tag off my car in protest this year. That will be
the first shot across the state's bow. It will begin a year-long escalating
campaign to confront not only this but a lot more actions by our leadership.
Time is starting to run out..... I need to renews that growing worthless
wildlife viewing tag or buy a regular no-hassle tag for just $25.00.
Let's go birding......
