It appears to me that this entire vanity license plate system needs a super
investigation. I saw the same article did Dean Edwards sent out, and it is
the only announcement I have seen or heard, however, I DO NOT take our
esteemed newspaper here in Nashville. I do pick it up on Sundays, so that is
probably where I saw it.

I have heard some rumblings in the past from bluebird plate bearers and some
other people who flat out refuse to buy vanity plates just because of the
reported juggling of funds that Wallace mentioned. I gave up my bluebird
plate last year because I found out on the last day of the month that they no
longer sold them at the Centennial Blvd. tag office which is very near my
home and where I had bought mine in the past. The only place they are
available in Davidson County now is at the downtown office. I no longer drive
downtown, and it was too late to get my tag mailed. I was told at the
Centennial office that the Governor dictated that only county seat's main tag
office could distribute the vanity plates as the state could not afford to
distribute them to all the offices. Also, by that time several people had
told me I was crazy to buy one as the funds are funneled to wherever the
powers that be need (or want) a little extra money. If some of you know the
"real scoop", please share it with the rest of us.

Thanks.

Dee Thompson
