Jan. 1 Carole Franklin and I saw the first 40 annual birds in Tennessee
in a circuit that ranged from Southern Washington County, to Erwin to
South Holston Lake.
Highlights were: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker along Hwy. 107 in Lamar,
Pine Warbler in the trees above the Wier Dam at S. Holston in mixed
feeding flock with Eastern Bluebirds and an Eastern Phoebe,
pair of Gadwalls and a Green-winged Teal at the Erwin Fish Pond,
Hairy Woodpecker on the mountain above Lamar.
