I had this issue on a server when the NIC was hadrcoded with speed/duplex, and
the setting was not 100% the same on the switch...

Emne: Ver slow data transfer XP FR3 on W2003
Hi All
I have a new intel server installed with XP FR3 and W2003 server. Transferring
data from this machine across the network seems to take ages - an unreasonably
long time.
I have used a test folder (approx 290MB) and this takes approx 15 secs to
transfer to the new citrix server when pushed, and nearly a minute when pulled.
But transferring back to data server from Citrix - it takes well in excess of 5
minutes when pushed. My test folder contains 2 large files, now if I try to
copy a profile for example (loads of tiny files), approx 5 MB takes about 8
mins?
This affects file/save routines and logging off where roaming profiles are used
- regardless of the logged on user and associated rights.
The XP server and the data server are fitted with Gb NIC's and are both running
full duplex. The old Citrix server (NT4 with MF1.8) has now data transfer
performance issue, and is fitted with a 100Mb card.
Any thoughts
