We use an Eltron P210 hooked up locally to a PC in our Corporate office. =
It prints in color or monochrome on standard PVC cards and can do =
magnetic encoding. There are various software packages (some very =
expensive) for creating card templates but we use MS Word to create the =
ID's and they look great. To do barcode or magnetic encoding you will =
need specialized software, however.
We use Terminal Server 2000 but I could not find an ID printer that =
worked with it. I tried installing to our Print Server and to the =
Terminal Server using a NetGear print server but no luck. The drivers =
and installation software are designed to be local.=20

Thanks Rick. Any chance you could find out some of the models they
used? We have seen some of the Eltron's but the tech's eyes glaze over
when I mention terminal server and they tell me that they "don't think
it's supported".=3D20
Thanks!
Greg

Hi Greg,
Check out http://www.id-enhancements.com/. They have a number of PVC
card printers, but also have an ID card printing service in case the
cost of the printers is a bit too much.
Our customers have used a number of the Eltron badge printers on TS.

Rick

We are looking at getting a printer to print our Employee name badges
and also have it put a bar code on there for the time clock. Kind of
like the name badges they give out at IForum. Does anyone know of a
printer that does this that works well on a terminal server or as a
network printer.
Thanks!
Greg
