Slackintosh 10.2-final is released! Upgrading from 10.1 to 10.2 is recommended: 10.1 is somewhat broken (gcc --static doesn't work) and was something like a proof-of-concept ;-) 10.2 should be pretty stable. Bootable ISO-Images: ==================== http://workaround.ch/download.html Security: ==================== Slackintosh 10.2 contains all security-fixes for Slackware 10.2 up to SSA:2005-286-01 (OpenSSL) Fixes for 10.1 are provided until 10.3/11 is released Upgrading from 10.1: ==================== Upgrading Slackintosh 10.1 to 10.2 works the same as upgrading Slackware. So you can follow Pat's instructions: http://slackware.at/data/slackware-10.2/UPGRADE.TXT Using Slapt-Get may also work: 1) Install http://workaround.ch/pub/slackintosh/10.1/EXTRA/slapt-get-0.9.10d-powerpc-1.tgz on your 10.1 system 2) run # slapt-get --update # slapt-get --upgrade .. to get an up-to-date 10.1 system 3) change /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc -> Replace 10.1 with 10.2 4) run # slapt-get --update # slapt-get --dist-upgrade (add --no-md5 if it complains about gtk+2..) 5) Check if slapt-get replaced/upgraded the glibc # /lib/libc.so.6 |grep version => Version should be 2.3.5 6) You may have to cleanup some old lib-clutter inside /lib (the old libc may still be there, remove it if you don't need it) and checkout /etc for *.new files 7) You are now running 10.2 :-) btw: slapt-get does *not* upgrade the kernel, you have to do this yourself if you need a newer kernel (Don't forget to run 'ybin') -- "Wow, I'm Dazzled!
