Please pardon the shameless self-promotion, but this is a really useful
tool!
 

Transceivers are characterized across many settings (Vod, pre-emphasis,
data rates, etc.) and conditions (temperature, backplane, etc.)  The
volume of characterization data can be overwhelming even for simple
measurements such as eye diagrams.

 

Altera's Characterization Group has developed a tool to easily view
thousands of eye diagrams (measured, not simulated!) across the numerous
settings and conditions.
