I just thought I would add my 2 cents worth. I use the Yahoo account because
it is my personal account. This forum is not really related to company
business, so I hesitite to use the corporate email system for it.
Also, the Yahoo account is portable. I do contract work, and in the last
year have done design work for Goodrich FUS in Vermont, NASA in Maryland
(through Orbital Sciences) and ITT Space Systems Division in Indiana.
In the time I have had the Yahoo Account, I have gone through 3 ISPs, so I
don't like to use that address either.
My email signature contains my name, address, email address and phone number.
I really do not see the relevance to the forum of where I am working at the
moment.
Oh, and my yahoo account does not add to the flood of "Out of Office"
automatic replied. I find those a real pain.

I agree with you that it takes time and effort to reply to someone's
question, and we all appreciate that. It is true people like to know who
they talk to, and a Yahoo or other non-specific email account may last much
longer than a company email address in there days. Did you overlook
something when making a conclusion just based on one abused post?
My point is that it shouldn't matter whether someone use their company email
as an identity or another non-specific email accounts as long as he/she
raise an appropriate question to this list, a lots of professionals are
willing to share their thoughts and help others and you are one of them as
well.
Thanks,
DJ
