I haven't followed this thread closely so I am not emotionally involved with
the issue(s), and therefore might be able to provide something approaching
unbiased insight. My comments follow along the line of Patrick's below.
It's been a long year, tech has been hit hard, a lot of good people are
hunting for jobs, and we've all been emotionally assualted by 9/11....not
the best of years.
Freedom of opinion, no matter how it is presented, is a hallmark of our
society and of this list. Each of us has stepped in it at one time or
another. I prefer quasi-choas to pablum, differences of opinion (with
direction and focus)over uniform agreement, and exploration over accepted
practice. I'm sure we all do.
I do agree that if you have a burr under your saddle with someone in
particular, take it offline. But other than that....let the music play. I
think a good rule of thumb is that when you start CAPITALIZING A LOT OF YOUR
COMMENTS!!!, it's time to take it off line.
Pissing contests never resolve anything. Kiss and make up. Life is too
short.
