If you're definition of a "DSO" is "Digital Storage
Oscilloscope", then the answer is "YES".  We have
several flavors of DSOs (e.g., Tek 11801, HP 54120,
etc...), none of which have DPO, and all work just
fine for displaying eye patterns.

The trick is to find the right option/feature in
the setup menus.  I believe HP/Agilent calls is
Persistance, while Tek calls it something else 
(I forget at the moment).

DPO makes the eye look prettier and in some instances
provides some additional value over a standard
DSO, but you do not need/require DPO to display
useable eye diagrams!
