[SI-LIST] Re: package S-parameters in IBIS

Hello, Palusa,

An S-parameter model (representing a package or other passive interconnect)
is contained in an ICM file. The ICM specification is posted on the IBIS
web page below the IBIS 4.1 specification. The ICM parser is on the IBIS
web page with the other IBIS parsers.

In IBIS 4.1, the S-parameter model is not automatically connected to the
IBIS buffer or component. This is left to the SI tool. If the package is
modeled using S-parameters, the user might set the package default
parameters to some minimum (non-zero) value (such as 1e-20).

EBD and PKG files do not support S-parameters.

S-parameters are not applicable to I/O buffers in IBIS.

Best regards,
Lynne

Subject: [SI-LIST] package S-parameters in IBIS

Hi all,

IBIS 3.2 and 4.1 has the option of modeling package RLCG's . Does IBIS 3.2
or 4.1 has the option of modeling packge S-parameters? IBIS 4.1 has the
option of modeling S_parameters. Is it only for I/O's or even for packages?
I checked IBIS 4.1 spec. In the package modeling option we can specify RLCG
matrices? But how do we model S-parameters?
Can someone help me with this..Thanks in advance..
