*List Effect*
When each of us first hooks in to the List, it's like being on the Tonight
Show.  We all feel like we have to tell our life's story.  All of our
strengths and weaknesses are brought to the fore and displayed for all to
see.  Everyone over does it at first.  There's some jostling for position,
and then things settle down to "just information".  I think the only ones
that I haven't seen do that are the Sun guys - Novak/Smith/Anderson (sorry
Ray), and that's probably because I've only been on the List for about 5
years.  It's a human failing; it's the List Effect.  I know I stepped in it
at first.  However, I got some help and clarity injected into my situation
by someone that I've never met who happened to say the right thing at the
right time.  It wasn't a public rebuttal, it was a private e-mail that
simply opened my eyes.  This is an undocumented advantage to the List.  And
as always,like Ed, it never hurts to apologize, clean the slate, and move
on.
