I think what you are looking for is IEEE Std 315-1975 (Reaffirmed 1993)
Titled - Graphic Symbols for Electrical and Electronics Diagrams (Including
Reference Designation Letters).
You can buy a copy through Amazon.com or IEEE ( http://standards.ieee.org/
). The IEEE online store has an option to download the document as a PDF.
