This is trivial question, but it is an important check.
Did you try doing one simulation run using your hspice command 
on one of the spice files generated ( one of the *.spi) files 
generated by s2ibis?  

If that works correctly go back to check if something is missing in 
the .s2i file such as Spice type, spice program etc.
