Hello si-list,
Currently we've been observing the behavior that we would
like to understand better.
The setup is the following:
SerDes driver - 16inch of 100 ohm differential trace -
SerDes receiver
SerDes devices are internally terminated to 100ohm.
Equipment : Agilent86100 DCA.
Differential 6330 Tektronix probe.
The attached picture is the sample of what we are seeing at
the receiver end.
We are not using the pre-emphasis at this point.
As you can see from the picture a transition from one state
to the other always hesitates at about the 2/3s
point and then continues the transition.
What we expected from this picture is that the signal at the
receiver would continue its exponential rise
until a state change and not the hesitation mentioned above.
Hspice simulation shows close correlation to this picture.
Any input on this subject is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Alexander Nosovitski
