IA5 means "International Alphabet 5" It is sometimes called 'ITA-5'
(International Telegraph Alphabet Number 5)
International Alphabet 5 is an international standard alphanumeric
code which has a facility for national options. The USA version is
called ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange).
