[SI-LIST] Sin(x)/x

It's that time of month again as the keys have been clicking on the
keyboard here. My latest article has been posted at http://emcesd.com
on a common scope setting whose default value can hide significant
measurement errors while troubleshooting or veriyfing circuit
performance. The picture link to the article is located at the bottom
of the the index page, but there are 80 articles above that on the
same page!

Sin(x)/x, the Forgotten Setting - Part One
-------------------------------------------------------

The many features of digitizing scopes both makes them useful and at
the same time can cause problems if they are all not set properly for
the measurement to be made. This month's Technical Tidbit at
http://emcesd.com covers the Sin(x)/x setting and its affect on
measurement accuracy, which can be severe. For many measurements, the
recommendation is to disable this feature.

I make available course notes, including updates, in pdf format to
people who have attended my full two day High Frequency Measurements
and Noise seminar. This month I have updated the files hfmd-ia.pdf and
hfmd-c.pdf with significant information. If you have attended my two
day seminar and have lost the download information, send me an email
with your current contact information and tell me when and where you
took the course. I will email you the download instructions for the notes.

-------------------------

On August 17th in Boston, MA, USA, just before the IEEE EMC Symposium,
I will be delivering a one day EMC seminar with Michael King,
co-presenter. This course is a combination of our material and is
quite unique. The URL for more information is:

http://www.elliottlabs.com/services/seminars/sym2003.htm

In the Fall, Michael King and I are presenting a 3 day public seminar
on EMC and ESD topics. More information is at:

http://emcesd.com/seminars/index.htm

The course outline is at:
