[SI-LIST] Lumped Vs Distributed Model

Hi
I would like to know the significance of distributed model over the
lumped model.
In order to do find the segments for a lumped T-model we use below
given relation
Risetime> segmentlength *10/phase velocity
but this is for lossless lines. How to find the segments if we have
to do for lines other than lossless?
Thanks
Haritha
