We have recently released a new TDR applications paper on =
high-resolution TDR measurements.  The paper discusses some of the =
applications of high-resolution TDR (circuit model parameter extraction, =
failure analysis, etc.) and the relationship of incident TDR pulse =
risetime to resolution.  It also details the hardware set-up and =
measurement results for making TDR measurements with a 9 ps incident TDR =
pulse. =20

A 9 ps TDR pulse results in approximately a 4X improvement in resolution =
relative to Agilent's commercial TDR solution and approximately a 2.5X =
improvement in resolution relative to Tektronix' commercial TDR system.  =
Resolution of features as close together as 1.5 mm is demonstrated with =
a test circuit.  The reported measurements are based on using a =
Picosecond Pulse Labs Model 4020 TDR source enhancement module with =
either an Agilent or Tektronix oscilloscope.
