[SI-LIST] Re: High Data Rate Cables

Giovanni,

Amp "Microstrip" is a 50 ohm GSG ribbon. It is pretty compact and has
controlled impedance connectors. Two SE 50 ohm lines can be used to form a
single 100 ohm differential line for your LVDS. LVTTL could use just a
single line.

3M makes some nice LVDS cable assemblies.

I can't remember who makes it but there is a product called Mictor that
would be pretty cool for your LVDS and possibly LVTTL.

Madison cable makes 100 ohm differential shielded twisted pair cable that
would work nicely. You would have to select a good cable connector scheme
to use with this raw cable. Madison will even make non homogenous raw cable
so that you can have your LVDS and LVTTL in the same cable.

Hope this helps,
James J.

Subject: [SI-LIST] High Data Rate Cables

Dear Experts,

I need to connect, by means of a cable no longer than 30 cm, two
boards with two different electrical standards:
First Connection:       LVTTL at 125MHz 64 Single ended bit;
Second Connection: LVDS at 500MHz 16 Differential Bit.

I have no idea if such cables exist. Could You be so kind to
suggest me such cables or other ways to achieve the same result?

Thank You very much for Your help.

Yours Sincerely

Giovanni Galiero
