Depends on what you're interested in. I've never used Hyperlynx, but
I would guess that ADS Momentum is closest in comparison. If you're
looking to do full 3D simulation, EMDS, HFSS, and CST are all good
places to start. If the CST training includes time domain and
frequency domain simulators, that would be my recommendation.
It's good to try both types of simulators and see which one best meets
your needs.

Subject: [SI-LIST] SI Tool Suggestion
Date: Fri, 23 Feb 2007 09:19:32 -0500
I have been using Hyperlynx Line Sim for a number of years now to
evaluate SI issues. I am looking to expand my knowledge base by
learning another tool. I have access to HFSS, ADS, and the CST
Microwave suite of tools. My company provides on-site training in all
of these. Does anyone have any thoughts on which tool one I should
spend my time learning? I am leaning towards ADS or CST Microwave. I
will not be designing transitions for RF or high-spedd digital
signals,
so I don't think HFSS would suit my needs.
Thanks for your inputs.
