Hello,
In fact, in the datasheet, there are specifications for over/undershoots 
with respect to dutycycle : see table 18.
For instance, it can tolerate overshoots to 3.93V for duty cycles of 10% 
or less.
Depending on the duration of the overshoots, you may live with it ... 
Pay also attention to the fact that large overshoots mean large radiated 
noise for tracks on external layers.
