Hi All,
I am a little late this month because of a heavy travel schedule, but I just
posted my latest Technical Tidbit titled:
Using Resonant Frequency Measurements to Extract Circuit Parameters
(Calculating the Capacitance of a BNC Barrel Adapter)
Abstract: Measuring the resonant frequency of a circuit can yield
informationfrom which circuit parameters can be determined. An example is
given of using the resonance of a small wire loop attached to a BNC barrel
adapter to calculate the capacitance of the adapter. This method can be
applied to connectors and other structures as well and is especially useful
if a network analyzer is not available.
The link to the article is the picture of two loops at the bottom of the
pageat http://emcesd.com[1]
Further up on the webpage, look for the palm trees, you can see the details
of a talk I am giving at the University of California at Santa Barbara in a
few months that is open to the public.
