Hello Everyone,

My name is Cheryl and I have two great clients that are in need of great
signal integrity engineers!

The first position is with a start-up company in Austin, TX working on
intelligent interconnects. They are looking for a high-speed board designer
with SI experience. The description is below:

Signal Integrity Hardware Engineer

Job Title:

Senior Signal Integrity Hardware Engineer

Recruiting Description:

We are looking for that perfect Signal Integrity Hardware Engineer for our
company in Austin, Texas - someone with at least 7 years experience in
Engineering, having performed the hardware signal integrity function on
projects with high volume production success. You will be involved with the
PCB board design, and development effort through all phases including
analysis, design, layout, simulation, prototype bring-up, test,
documentation and release to manufacturing. Other activities include deep
analysis of clock-&-data systems with respect to SI performance, power grid
noise, crosstalk, and electromagnetic interference.

This position requires a broad experience spectrum with laboratory
validation, PCB vendor/layout experience along with pre & post layout
simulations using 3D solvers and SPICE.

Education:

MSEE with 5+ years OR BSEE with 7+ years Industry related experience

Experience Required:

1. Minimum 7 years Engineering experience

2. Has successfully performed the hardware SI engineering function on a
minimum of 10 products

3. Thorough knowledge of pre-layout signal integrity simulations
including topology, routing, I/O buffer selection and package
parasitic/delay effects

4. Thorough knowledge of pre-layout timing analysis (creating interface
timing budgets) including common clock, DDR and QDR interfaces

5. Thorough knowledge of power integrity/noise margin analysis & use of
effective decoupling schemes

6. Expertise in post-layout SI and timing analysis - simulating
secondary effects(crosstalk, inter-symbol interference, sso, jitter) and
their effects on the overall timing budget

7. Expertise with SI engineering tools such as Cadence Allegro,
Spectra-Quest, Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx or XTK

8. Expertise with lab measurement equipment such as digital
oscilloscopes, time domain reflectometers and spectrum analyzers

9. Familiar with state of the art 3D field solvers such as Ansoft 3D

10. Familiar with IBIS modeling and HSPICE model extraction

11. Experience in high-speed data transmission through cables is a plus

Outline of Job Description:

* The following is an outline of the job description for a Senior Signal
Integrity Hardware Engineer. This job description may have responsibilities
added or subtracted as XXX projects proceed and new requirements are
identified.

1) Participate with the team in the development of PCB product
definitions

2) Design PCB circuit topologies for high-speed CDR applications were SI
is optimized for transmission and EMI performance

3) Perform pre-layout signal integrity simulations

4) Guide & instruct the PCB layout personnel

5) Perform post-layout timing analysis in order to meet robust
manufacturing standards

6) Compose detailed design and manufacturing documentation

7) Interact with PCB vendor to ensure correct PCB manufacturing

8) Hold formal architecture and design reviews with peers and superiors

9) Perform empirical measurements on your designs and publish formal
report on the results

10) Provide Marketing with datasheet and product brief information

11) Participate in customer meetings

The second position is with a SI tools company in California and they are
looking for an FAE (the same position is open in Austin too). Anyone from a
hardware or software background that has extensive experience using EDA for
SI design, simulation and analysis would be ideal. The description is
below:

Field Application Engineer - Santa Clara or Austin

Job Description

. Carrying out pre-sale evaluations and post-sale support;
. Working with the sales team to conduct technical presentations and demos;
. Conducting software training classes;
. Reviewing, updating and generating training materials, application notes,
user documents and technical marketing materials;
. Participating in exhibitions and trade shows.

Requirements

* Solid background in electromagnetics, transmission line and circuit
theory;
* Experience in solving signal and power integrity issues for
high-speed designs;
*       Excellent oral and written communication skills;
*       Excellent computer and software tool usage skills;
*       Able to travel up to 25%;
* MS or Ph.D. in EE (or related field) plus 2+ years of relevant
working experience

Would be a good fit if you fit one of the following areas below AND have a
desire to interface with customers and have strong communication skills:

1) Are strong at the systems level, dealing with packaging/PCB power
and signal integrity, and strong USER of signal integrity tools versus doing
day to day DESIGN, experience with simulation and modeling tools such as:

Typical 3D/2D field solvers and circuit simulators:

Ansoft - HFSS, Q3D, SIwave, TPA

Sigrity - SPEED2000, PowerSI

Synopsys- HSPICE

Cadence -- SpecctraQuest

Optimal - PakSi-E

Agilent - ADS

2) On the EDA company side, but specifically strong in simulation and
modeling tools for Signal Integrity

Both of these positions offer competitive salaries. please let me know if
you would be interested. Also, if you know someone that I could network
