Cisco Systems' ISBU System Packaging Group is seeking a self-motivated
individual for the position of Senior Signal Integrity Engineer for the
San Jose, California campus. The job description includes, but is not
limited to the following tasks: Translate hardware design requirements
to appropriate physical interface selection; engage with Silicon vendors
to select appropriate technology; generate performance requirements for
interfaces based on system analysis, and verify compliance. We are now
engaged in the design of 6-8Gbps serial link interfaces. The Senior SI
Engineer is expected to model legacy systems for 6-8Gbps operation, and
design new systems to work at even higher line rates. He or she must
evaluate package designs, as well as generate guidelines for new
packages; he or she must also be able to evaluate characterization of
SerDes, and design experiments to do the same.

 

Experience with design and analysis tools such as HSPICE, MATLAB, HFSS,
CST, ADS, etc., is required. Moreover laboratory skills using high speed
oscilloscopes, DCAs, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, BERTs, etc., is a strong
plus.

 

A solid grasp of the theoretical concepts in Fourier transform theory,
stochastic processes, microwave theory and techniques, and communication
theory is expected. A MSEE with 7-10years of experience, or a PhD with
3-5years of experience is required.
