I guess you'd connect the flooded areas to the parent plane with blind =
vias.

Do you use these flooded areas simply as shields, and, because of that =
they
might not require but one or two vias per isolated copper pour?  Or are
these areas used to source current as well (which would require a lot =
more
connectivity to the parent plane)?

With a stackup consisting of:

Top
GND
IN1
IN2
PWR
Bottom

You would recommend flooding "IN1" with copper connected to "PWR" and =
"IN2"
with copper connected to "GND"?

What effect do these copper fills have on the signals they are next to?
What sort of clearances need to be specified in order not to affect them
adversely?  Are there instances when you would not recommend this =
approach
(signal rates, clock lines, etc.)?
