The Philips 82C250 says 14V/us slew rate with it's slew-rate-setting
resistor at 47k ohms. Does that help?
Are you doing high-speed or low-speed CAN?
There are very slow by SI standards, as they are designed to operate in
a very EMI-conservative environment.
