Ed:
I am using Power Tracks Pro on an IBM 760L laptop. I have just
purchased a new version, and will try your suggestions about turning off
the input if I am sending to the organ and visa-versa on the record.
Thanks.

Ken,
First question is what software package are you using? My guess is that
the software and the interface is set up to receive and transmit
simultaneously. That is akin to having the "soft thru" switch on the
PR-300 set ON, which will lock up or crash anything connected to it.
Rule is, set the software up for whichever function you will be doing.
If playback, then turn the MIDI input OFF. Likewise, if recording, then
turn the MIDI Out OFF. Or you can disconnect the un-needed MIDI cable.
The PR-300's software does this selection automatically, unless of
course, the soft thru switch is set ON.
Regards,
Ed Wilson
