I forwarded your post to a co-worker who responded with the following:
What are people on your list saying about the life of the new ink jet
prints? I know there are some special inks being touted as great for
photos,
but I haven't read much about their permanence.
Any comments? If it's off topic, please reply offlist.
Thanks,
Sissy

Hello all, I am a returning subscriber, still in the darkroom, where today
I had an unpleasant experience. Nice to be talking about silver processes.
Decided to do some 11x14 prints today, and heavens, I'm getting down to the
last few sheets of my 50-sheet boxes of Ilford Cooltone RC and MGIV fiber.
A little later I realized that I'm down to the last half of my 500-sheet
box of 8x10 single weight Kodak Polymax fiber F, my usual paper. Better
order some more.
Looked it up. B&H shows no Kodak 500-sheet packages, and what they have in
100-sheet units, is in N surface only on their website. Ilford MGIV in
matte only, and no Cooltone.
Calumet has Polymax only in 100-sheet boxes, no F, no single weight. They
seem to have the Cooltone, and the MFf.
This has got me worried.
Do I need to worry. I guess Ilford paper will go away or become something
else. Same for Kodak?
Are there lots of other sources I should be checking?
