Well, I always look close up, regardless of size. Don't you? ;-)

(and I always compare grain sharpness in all 4 corners - just habit I
suppose.)

That should be proportional too, due to the normal viewing distance
increase, but you have a point, since we can't keep those folks at that
distance:)

Never thought of that. Thanks.

Yes, thanks Ralph, I am sure you are right, but the grain will be much more
visible on a much enlarged print and if the grain is fuzzy on one side but
is sharp on the other, it will be more apparent than it would be on a small
print. That's what I meant. Should have been a bit more explicit.

I didn't check my math yet, but I thought the error through misalignment is
proportional?

Another consideration Justine, if you are going to wall mount: You will
need to take great care with really accurate alignment. The greater the
enlargement, the more obvious will be any misalignment - unsharp grain on
one side etc

You can do the math but a new wide angle enlarger lens would cost more
then
a new enlarger-(.

I majored in Philsophy. This gives you an idea of my math abilities..

Having said that.. where can I go to get more info on the calculations
required..

  Thanks
