I forget who mentioned Benro tripods. I googled their site and they are
very impressive. B&H only has three or four of their products. Does anyone
know of dealers in the US who sell Benro?
CHEERS!

Subject: [pure-silver] Tripod Retrofit
I am looking for a low-cost tripod setup for my Mamiya Pro TL 645. I really
can't afford retail prices, an am searching for an alternate solution. I
really know next to nothing about decent-level tripods, except that the
heads are sold separately from the bodies for some reason.
I saw this wonderfully sturdy-looking one on ebay:

And I just bought this head:

I think I may've jumped the gun by buying this one, but I'm not sure........
Would it make sense for me to buy this tripod & try to figure out later how
to retrofit the screw threads to fit the head? And did I buy a head that
ultimately won't be able to hold up my rig--I have the prism finder FG401, a
120 back, power winder grip, and either an 80 or 120mm lens. AFA I can
tell, even w/the longer lens it is way below the max 8.8lb capacity of the
head. Or is this head not recommended for some other reason?
I'd greatly appreciate any feedback!
Thanks, as always,
Adrienne Moumin
