Dear Ray,
The main reason that people shoot potatoes is they are cheaper than
Carl Gustave rounds and lighter than 25 pounder shells. And if you have
visitors drop in unannounced at your campsight you can roast the ammunition
in the campfire coals with less noise or metal fragments.
