Would anybody know why Kodak has discontinued their production of sepia
toner. The only sepia toner they are still making is *Sepia Toner II
for Warm Paper*. Called all the stores in Montreal and nobody has it.
One clerk even tried to convince me that it was the same thing. I asked
him if he had ever used both and compared, he told no, he was into
digital. Some knowledgeable technical support from a supposedly pro
photo store.
My problem is that I started printing a series of prints for an
exhibition, toning them in Sepia Toner. Half way through, I ran out of
Sepia Toner. The Sepia Toner II gives a different effect and I can't
use it to continue printing. The differences are too noticeable and on
top of that I don't like the chocolate colour I get with Sepia Toner II.
Is there a formula for Sepia Toner that I could mix up on my own? I'd be
willing to reprint what I have already done if the sepia mixture is to
my liking. Otherwise I'm screwed :( Exhibition in one month. I have
ready access to the Canadian photo chemistry supplier. I can go pick
it up, only a 20 minute drive.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
