Linda, does your new Dell have Vista installed or XP? There are some
differences between the 2 in how they handle DHCP and static IP
networks, I saw an article pertaining to how Vista handles dhcp. What
are you running on the other computers, probably XP I would presume but
it is good to know.
A relative whose employer uses only Dell from laptops to servers has had
the occasional system be flaky for no apparent reason. They get the same
desktop for all developers and yet 1 desktop was slow and had difficulty
connecting to the lan consistently and after endless support calls they
could replace it altogether.
Which Linksys model do you have?
