Patrick,

The certification process seems like a never-ending treadmill. By the time
you get certified, that is no longer the newest version of Oracle, so your
certification means less. If you choose to get on that treadmill, I would
advocate that you begin studying for Oracle 11g. True, the study materials
are not available today, so you'll have to begin with the Oracle
documentation. But presently the requisite materials will be available. Then
you can be among the first to be 11g certified, and you won't need to
immediately turn around and get another certification. Then you can relax.
Until 12g comes out.
