Re: Question re Transportable Tablespaces

I'm not recalling which version you're dealing with, but this works
ok on 10g (just tested on 10.2.01 on Redhat ES 4 VM on a MAC).
I do see what your talking about in the documentation. I have
attempted to generate a transportable tablespace set in which all
dependent objects were not in the tablespaces specified and that
export failed with errors. I don't have access tonight to a 9i
database to test, but I suspect the same would happen in this case.
If so, in order to move forward with transporting that tablespace, I
can't think of any other way than to drop the function based index in
advance of the tts operation and create it on the target side when
finished.

Darrell,
A follow-up question if I may. The docs say function-based indexes
will
not transport. I don't have things configured yet so am not
prepared to
test but am wondering how they are handled. DO they just not go, can
they be rebuilt after the tablespaces is moved or must they first be
dropped and then recreated?
Thanks.
