Along the same line, I had a situation where the application vendor used "RULE"
hint using 9.2.0.5 and 9.2.0.7 doesn't allow that.

Hello All,

would need to be downgraded?
 any reason will be helpful?

The only one I've personally run into in production is: Application worked on the old version of Oracle, fails on the new, turns out it uses a feature that has been removed and the application vendor doesn't have a version of their software that works with the current of Oracle or is no longer in business so you're stuck and the department won't or cannot replace the application.
