How much you /should/ pay attention to buffer cache hit ratios hasn't
changed. What has changed is the number of people who now know the
truth. :)
For historical perspective, I offer this... Can you guess on which
version of Oracle I was taught why a really high buffer cache hit ratio
is a reliable indicator of a serious performance problem?
It was version 5.
...And the truth had been known long before that.

Seema,
I think you are in old days. You don't need to worry about the hit
ratio. Performance measurement has changed from hit ratio to wait event
based.

Subject: BUFFER CACHE RATIOS
Hi,
I noticed Buffer Cache Hit Ratio was 52% ,after increased
db_block_buffers
only I see increase in 4% in buffer cahe hit ratio.
change value from db_block_buffers = 14424 to db_block_buffers = 16000
Wondering how to improve more buffer cache ratio.
