RMAN Survey - follow up question

Thanks to all that responded to my RMAN survey last month.

I have a follow up question to ask.

When asked "Why do you use a recovery catalog?", many
respondents checked of the box
  "Because I have run into recovery situations where a controlfile
   only was insufficient"

My question is: What are the recovery situations you have encountered
where the controlfile was insufficient?
