One point I have not seen mentioned in this discussion:

How light exits the rear of the lens and travels to the sensor[s].

In some lenses, light may radiate from a central point within the lens
and travel in non-parallel lines to the sensor.

In a camera with a single layer sensor, this type of lens may not cause loss of detail, but it may cause such losses due to parallax with multiple sensor cameras or cameras with
multi-layer sensors.

For these cameras, it would seem lenses should be of the type where the light exits in parallel lines.
