It seems Comcast has had a slight shift in priority, from pushing HD &
PVRs back towards getting everyone paying for digital cable.

Today I received a phone call from a Comcast rep. He said there had
been some mistake and I would have to return my Comcast HDPVR for a
regular HD box. The reason being I was not subscribed to digital cable.

I explained that I had already been through that discussion with them
and the reason I had the PVR was because at the time I signed up their
web page was still advertising that you only needed either an HDTV or
Digital cable subscription. Either was sufficient to qualify for the
HDPVR. He said yes, maybe so, but it was still a mistake. After
checking he called me back and said something to the effect that there
was still some confusion and they could not yet tell me how much more
(if any) it would cost me if I choose to keep the HDPVR (which I won't
for more extra $$).

I'm somewhat annoyed by all this since after getting the Comcast PVR
I've given my old Tivo to my kids. But we'll see what happens.
