Damn, looks like we won't be ahead anymore when R2 sees the light :-))
BTW, that's right: the resize operation is done by the file system 
itself (for the most part), so that should always be possible online 
(depending on the file system, of course).
But the system should remember the state of the operation in case of a 
crash nevertheless :-)
