So, does anyone have any time to actively work on PPP? I'm asking as an
alternative may be to simply work on porting over one of the other packages
out there. This would still involve a fair bit of work, but less than
writing the whole thing from scratch. It would probably also mean a change
of approach and moving more into userland, which I don't think would upset
many folks here :)

We'd still need other drivers and stuff, so this is only about getting us
PPP.

I'm suggesting this as I'd like to think that we can wrap up the networking
stuff before too long and get a release out the door. This suggestion is
meant to accelerate that and get us where we want to be. If we want to
rewrite the entire PPP stuff for R2 then that's OK and probably a reasonable
thing to do. R2's networking should be more capable than R1's in a lot of
ways, but it's a long way away yet :)
